I know, it has been some time since I made a blog update on the apartment. Everything is actually much further along than can be seen here. In fact, all of the work has been completed, but the home is not quite ready for the finished photo documentation, as I am working on interior details, slowly but surely, and still need to hang art on the walls!
Although the construction work went quite quickly at the beginning of the project, the end was stretched out due to having to coordinate each of the workers to return according to their schedules and the order of works. The scaffolding was finally removed so the painters could come paint the facade that typical Tuscan yellow we love so much.
Some tile work was done in the garden shack. Then the plumber came to install the faucets and the new washing machine (which had been sitting new in its box in my kitchen for over 2 months). Then, the electrician returned to install the exterior lighting. Tracks had to be chiseled into the wall for electrical and patched. A new roof was added to the garden shack. A door solution still has to be studied. You can see the new condensation water heater on the left (below).
Now that the work is finished outside (new photos coming soon), Nina the cat can roam happily and freely in the back yard…and over the stone wall to the neighbors’ yards too!
